This month, Nutshell, the restaurant on St Martin’s Lane, Covent Garden, is celebrating Christmas this year, bringing the wealth of flavours and diversity of regional dishes of Iran for their take on a Christmas feast at their restaurant or delivered nationwide.

Nutshell’s Christmas at Home option for four, comes delivered to your door, designed to be finished off with the simplest of steps to keep things stress free. With playful use of fruit and spice characteristic of this time of year, marrying Persian flavours with traditional Christmas dinner elements makes this the perfect option for those who might want to enjoy something a little different.

Husband and wife team, Mohammad Paknejad and Marwa Alkhalaf’s, inspired by past festivities in Iran, have curated a menu with its centrepiece of Duck Shekam Por: duck cooked two ways.  Sous-vide Duck Breast on Crown and Confit Duck Legs are adorned with Date & tamarind sweet and tangy jus. Trimmings include: Kebeh Kurdistuffing rice balls with beluga lentil, walnut & raisins, Bandari Brussel SproutsRoasted sprouts with Bandari spiced burnt butter & roasted chestnuts, Haveejcaramelised heritage carrots, advieh spiced date & prune dressing, apples & walnut and Beetroot Boranisalt-baked heritage beetroot, whipped feta, turmeric, barberry & endives all alongside a Tahchin:  layered saffron rice with apricot puree & mixed nuts. For dessert, a beautiful Ranginak tart, made with toasted flour, buttery date filling, sumac clotted cream and dusted with pistachio and spiced sugar for a regal finish.

Diners looking to join Nutshell, can book to enjoy the same festive menu, alongside some of their signature dishes and classics, in the plush surroundings of their Covent Garden restaurant.  Guests can relax in Turkish delight rose banquettes and pistachio touches for a Middle eastern escape from the heart of Covent Garden. The Christmas Feast Menu should be pre-ordered for restaurant at least 48 hours in advance.
