With would-be travelers grounded by a global pandemic, 2020 has ushered in a new era of amateur bakers and whipped coffee enthusiasts. Yet every day, the desire to travel continues to grow. A recent survey, commissioned by Hilton, found that 95% of Americans said they are missing travel and 90% of respondents believe the country is experiencing a “Travel Memory Deficit” brought on by this lack of travel.
Travel expert Samantha Brown was recently in South Florida filming an episode for the next season of her acclaimed show “Samantha Brown’s Places to Love” on PBS. While in the region, Samantha visited the beautiful Hilton Marco Island Beach Resort & Spa where she joined us for a socially distant media day. Between virtual on-camera interviews, we caught up with Samantha to talk about the “Travel Memory Deficit,” future travel she’s most looking forward to and how consumers can harness their pent-up desire to reconnect with the people and places they love.
